Description
Carhartt Chester Stripe Short Sleeve Shirt
Cut from a lightweight viscose poplin, the Carhartt Chester Stripe Short Sleeve Shirt offers a loose fit both for layering options and improved breathability during the warmer summer months. A full length button fastening combined with a pointed collar puts a formal spin on a relatively casual silhouette that’s reminiscent of classic bowling shirts. Additionally the fabric has been garment washed for an immediate worn-in feeling straight whilst also adding a vintage touch to the colouring. The shirt has been designed with alternating vertical bands of black and white, with a small patch pocket to the left of the chest adorned with a small woven label.
Carhartt was established in 1889, generating workwear for everyone from Detroit’s car manufacturers to American soldiers during the war. However as they slowly introduced the industry to Europe, it was increasingly incorporated into urban underground cultures from hip-hop to graffiti and art. This revolutionised how Carhartt looked at their products and eventually lead them to develop the WIP (Work In Progress) subsidiary.
